Jeff Tweedy was born in Belleville, Illinois in 1967. He started playing guitar as a teenager and formed an early band called The Plebes. In 1987, he co-founded Uncle Tupelo with Jay Farrar, John Stirratt, and Ken Coomer. When Farrar left in 1994, the remaining members became Wilco.
Wilco's first album was 1995's 'A.M.' They later released more experimental records like 'Summerteeth' in 1999 and 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot' in 2001. The song 'Summer Noon' appears on that 2001 album. Tweedy has also released solo material, including the track 'Sunken Treasure'.
The band faced a legal dispute with Reprise Records in the mid-90s. Wilco's lineup has included John Stirratt on bass since the Uncle Tupelo days, along with Glenn Kotche on drums, Mikael Jorgensen on keyboards, and Pat Sansone on guitar.
