Jennifer & Stephany

Jennifer Costa and Stephanie de Almeida started singing together in Rio de Janeiro around 2010. Their first album came out in 2012, named after the song 'Hoje Eu Beijo' that became their biggest hit. That track, along with others like 'Cê Complica' and 'Dono do Bar,' gave them a straightforward pop sound with some funk and R&B touches.

They put out two more albums after that, one in 2016 and another in 2020. Their lyrics sometimes drew attention for being direct about relationships and personal freedom, which led to some public discussion about their work. They kept recording through it, with songs like 'Cê Perdeu' and 'Tarde Demais' showing up in their later material.

There wasn't much dramatic career arc or major reinvention, just a duo that found a sound people responded to and kept making music in that vein for about a decade. The songs stayed conversational and rhythmic, more about everyday situations than grand statements.
