Jenny Lewis formed this project with identical twin sisters Chandra and Leigh Watson in 2005, following her work with the band Rilo Kiley. Their debut album 'Rabbit Fur Coat' came out in 2006, built around the trio's vocal harmonies and Lewis's direct songwriting.
In 2008 they released the album 'Acid Tongue,' which included songs like 'Bad Man's World' and 'Black Sand.' The title track drew some criticism for its lyrics, which Lewis said were meant as commentary rather than endorsement.
The group disbanded in 2009. Their two albums together remain the core of their catalog, with songs like 'Barking at the Moon' and 'Big Wave' showing the blend of folk arrangements and personal writing that defined the project.
