Jeremy Enigk formed Sunny Day Real Estate in 1992 with bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith. Their 1994 debut album 'Diary' came out of Seattle's grunge scene, with Enigk's vocals and songwriting giving the band a cult following. The group broke up in 1995.
He started releasing solo albums in 1996 with 'Return of the Frog Queen.' His 2001 album 'River to Sea' included the title track, which became a fan favorite. Songs like 'World waits' and 'Shade And The Black Hat' also appear in his catalog.
Enigk has been open about dealing with addiction and mental health issues. In 2005 he was arrested for DUI.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
