Jerry Adriani was born Gérson Ângelo Cândido in 1943. He started out in Jundiaí, São Paulo, where he formed a band called The Boys. In 1960, producer Carlos Imperial signed him to Odeon Records, and his debut album 'Doce Doce Amor' came out soon after.
His 1963 song 'Indiferença' became a major hit in Brazil, and other tracks like 'És Meu Amor' and 'Com Todo Coração' kept him on the radio through the 1960s. He recorded with his band Os Rebeldes, which included drummer Claudio Simonetti and guitarist José Roberto Ferreira.
Adriani's stage style and some of his lyrics drew criticism at the time. He kept recording into the 1970s with albums like 'Jerry Adriani e Sua Banda,' though his popularity faded as musical tastes changed.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
