Jesse Johnson started playing guitar around age nine and joined The Time in 1981. He left that band a few years later to go solo. His debut album 'Jesse Johnson's Revue' came out in 1984 and included 'Heart Too Hot to Hold,' which became a hit.
Other songs like 'Be Your Man' and 'Fool's Paradise' show his mix of funk and rock guitar work. He put out several more albums through the late 1980s, including 'Sho You Right' and 'Love Games.'
There were some legal disputes about songwriting credits during that period, which he disputed. He kept recording after that, though less frequently.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
