Jesse Rutherford co-founded the alternative rock band The Neighbourhood in 2008 with drummer Brandon Alexander Fried and bassist Zach Abels. The band's debut album 'I Love You' came out in 2013. Among their songs, 'Bloom Later' has a haunting melody and deals with themes of love and loss.
Rutherford was born in 1984 in Newbury Park, California. His lyrics sometimes touch on drug use and mental health. In 2017, he faced backlash for comments he made about sexual assault.
The Neighbourhood released several albums including 'Wiped Out!' in 2015, 'Hard to Imagine the Neighbourhood Ever Changing' in 2018, and 'Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones' in 2020. Other songs in their catalog include 'Drama', 'Girls & Boys', 'Barbie & Ken', and 'Blame'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
