Jessi Blue formed in 2016 around vocalist Jessica Cope, with Peter Levy on guitar, Chris Peck on bass, and Molly Hamilton on drums. Their debut EP 'Empress' came out in 2017, and they signed with Sub Pop Records, which released their album 'Jumping the Sun' in 2019.
The lead single from that album, 'Frank Said,' became their most recognizable track. Its melody and Cope's vocals connected with listeners, though the band has maintained a somewhat private presence, avoiding much traditional media promotion.
In 2020, Cope's Lyme disease diagnosis led to some canceled tour dates. The group put out another album called 'The Unseen' in 2022.
