Jessie Daniels came out of Los Angeles in the early 2000s with a band that included guitarist Ethan Carter, bassist Jake Richards, and drummer Noah James. Their debut single 'It's No Wonder' landed in 2004 and caught on quickly, leading to a self-titled album that same year.
They put out a few more records after that, including 'Second Chances' and 'One Night Only,' which leaned into folk and rock sounds. Songs like 'Everyday' and 'Hold Me Now' kept things straightforward and melodic.
In 2006, Daniels had to cancel some tour dates after being hospitalized. The band's political views and Daniels's personal life also drew attention from the press around that time.
They released four studio albums in total before things went quiet. The music holds up as simple, guitar-driven pop with clear vocals and uncomplicated arrangements.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
