Jessyca formed in São Paulo in 1997, built around singer-songwriter Jessyca Saraiva. Their debut album came out in 1999, and they put out several more records over the next few years, including 'Coração Aberto' in 2001. The band's lineup has included Jessyca's brother Jessé on bass and guitarist Danilo Souza.
In 2005, they released the single 'Eu Dependo de Ti,' which became one of their most lasting songs. Other tracks like 'Janela do coração' and 'Telefone' also show up in their catalog. They've recorded seven studio albums in total.
There was some trouble around 2002 when their manager was accused of misusing funds, but the group kept working. Their music tends toward pop with emotional, personal lyrics, sung in Jessyca Saraiva's strong voice.
