Jessyca Kids

Jessyca Kids formed in 1997 in Niterói, Brazil, with three siblings, Jessyca, Kelly, and Gabriela, singing together. They started as a children's choir focused on Christian music, recording songs like "A Cristo Dai Louvor" and "Jesus É Bom Demais." Their early work had a straightforward, youthful energy that connected with listeners looking for accessible worship music.

Their debut album was called "A Cristo Dai Louvor," which translates to "Praise to Christ." It included tracks such as "Esta Alegria Não Vai Mais Sair / Fé Mais Fé" and "Jesus Bateu Na Minha Porta." The group's sound leaned toward simple arrangements and clear vocal harmonies, avoiding the more elaborate production common in adult contemporary Christian music at the time.

Some in Brazil's Christian community questioned whether their style was too modern or casual for religious themes, but they kept recording. They didn't shift toward a more polished or mainstream sound in response, instead sticking with the choir format and devotional lyrics. Songs like "Acorda Ele" reflect that consistent approach.
