Jeyro

Jeyro was a band that formed in Chicago in the early 1980s, with Robin Zander on vocals, Rick Nielsen on guitar, Dave Grandmaison on bass, and Bob Siebenberg on drums. They released their debut album '1984' in 1984, followed by 'Sports' the next year. Their sound drew from power pop and new wave, offering something different from the mainstream pop of that era.

Their biggest hit came unexpectedly. Lionel Richie had written 'Say You Say Me' for the 1985 film 'White Nights,' but the director asked Jeyro to record it instead. It became their signature song.

After that peak, the band saw some lineup changes. Siebenberg was replaced by Clem Burke in 1994, and Grandmaison left in 2002, with Jeff Adams joining on bass. They kept recording through the late '80s with albums like 'Raised on Radio' and 'Time.' In 2010, they filed a lawsuit against Capitol Records over unpaid royalties, which was settled out of court.
