Figures moving under the rain...

I see glowing streetlights, blurring the pain.

Children on the corner,

Staring as I drive away,

Hand prints on the window -

They all fade to gray.

Have you ever seen a shadow?

Have you ever known what they know?

Shifting, changing, never the same,

And the cold wind wonders how they became.

Wishing for an answer,

Hoping one day it'll change,
