Jimmy Helms formed his band in Los Angeles in the early 1990s. His father was a jazz saxophonist, and Helms grew up playing guitar and writing songs. The band's sound mixed rock, blues, and soul, and they built a reputation for strong live shows.
In 1994, Helms released "Gonna Make You An Offer You Can't Refuse," which became his most recognizable song. It had a catchy melody and reached the top of the charts.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
