Jimmy Justice formed in the 1970s with Jesse Reynolds on vocals, Jimmy McLaughlin on guitar, Billy Hayes on bass, and Terry Adams on drums. Their debut album 'Fires of Dissent' established their sound, which mixed hard rock with punk and blues elements.

Their second album 'Lighted Windows' brought them mainstream attention, particularly the title track which became a hit. The song's themes of voyeurism and social isolation resonated with some listeners while drawing criticism from others.

Reynolds' lyrics often addressed social and political themes, and his arrest for drug possession added to the band's outsider reputation. They released several albums that were well-received critically, though their uncompromising approach kept them somewhat on the margins of the rock scene.
