JM

JM formed in Jakarta in 2012 with vocalist Ari Julianto, guitarist Arief, bassist Erix Soekamti, and drummer Rizki Riyadi. They started playing small venues around the city, building a local following before things shifted in 2016.

That year, their song 'Foto 3x4' connected with listeners across Indonesia. Its straightforward lyrics and melody made it a hit, and the band found themselves moving from those smaller shows to wider recognition. Other songs like 'Ninguém É de Ninguém' and 'Contra o Sistema' followed, continuing in a similar vein of direct, guitar-based pop.

In 2018, they faced accusations of plagiarism over a track called 'Kisah Cintaku,' which created some public friction for a time. The band defended their work, and the matter eventually subsided. They've released several albums since forming, working occasionally with other Indonesian artists, but their core sound has remained grounded in that initial approach.
