Joana D'Arc formed in Mexico City in the early 2000s with Anahí on vocals, Sergio Acosta on guitar, Hugo Quezada on bass, and Arturo Lamadrid on drums. Their first album, 'Burning the Illusions,' came out in 2004 and included the track 'Cadafalso.'
They've put out several albums since then, like 'Flores No. 4' in 2006, 'Happy Machine' in 2010, and 'Madera' in 2017. Other songs in their catalog include 'Ensaio Quântico,' 'Estranhos Vampiros,' and 'Florbela Espanca.'
The lineup has changed over time, and they've worked with other musicians including Mike Patton and Julieta Venegas. Their lyrics often touch on social themes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
