João Paulo e Luciano were a Brazilian sertanejo duo from Itumbiara, Goiás. They started performing together in 1988, playing in bars and small venues before their 1992 album 'O Mundo É Tão Pequeno' brought them wider attention. Their song 'Amor Sensacional' became particularly well-known.
In 1996, João Paulo was diagnosed with a rare muscle disease that forced him to retire from performing. Luciano continued as a solo artist for several years before the duo reunited in 2005. They performed together until João Paulo's death in 2012.
The duo experienced periods of separation and reconciliation during their career, including a split in 2014 over financial disputes before eventually reuniting. Their catalog includes songs like 'Já É' alongside their more famous 'Amor Sensacional'.
