Jocelio dos Santos and Jorge Luiz came together in the early 1990s, both from Timbaúba in Pernambuco. They started making music as a duo, releasing their first album Romance in 1996. Their song O Amor Que a Gente Fez became particularly well-known.
In 2005, there was some public discussion about whether O Amor Que a Gente Fez borrowed too much from another song. The duo maintained it was their own work. They kept recording through the 2000s, putting out albums like Acústico in 2007 and a self-titled release for O Amor Que a Gente Fez in 2010.
Jocelio handled vocals and guitar, while Jorge sang and played guitar and bass. Their recordings have a straightforward acoustic quality that feels close to their live performances.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
