Joesef is Joseph Mount from Glasgow. He put out his first EP, Nudes, in 2019. His song Comedown came out the next year and got a lot of attention, becoming the main track on his 2021 album Permanent Damage.
His music is mostly acoustic, with a voice that carries a clear Scottish accent. Songs like Does It Make You Feel Good? and Loverboy tend to work through personal themes of relationships and doubt. In 2021, he also released a live acoustic EP called Between Us.
There was some talk around Loverboy that year about similarities to other work, which he addressed. He works as a solo artist.
