Joey Martin Feek and Rory Lee Feek met in 2002 at a festival in Pulaski, Tennessee. They started making music together, releasing a couple of independent albums that didn't get much attention from country radio. Things changed in 2008 when their song 'Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven' connected with listeners who liked its straightforward approach to faith and everyday life.
Their first proper album came out in 2009, called 'Farm to Fame.' The title track became one of their better-known songs, along with others like 'Cheater, Cheater' and 'I Love You Song.' Their sound was mostly acoustic country with some bluegrass and gospel mixed in, built around their vocal harmonies.
In 2014, Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer. They kept recording and performing while she was undergoing treatment. Their last album together was a collection of hymns released in 2016.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
