John Could

John Could was an Italian band formed around Giovanni "John" Caudo on vocals and guitar, with Stefano "Streva" Rogato on bass and Pietro "Pete" Festa on drums. They had a particular sound that some found quirky, and their 1984 single "Piede Nella Scarpa Sbagliata" became their most recognizable track.

That song, whose title translates to "Foot in the Wrong Shoe," was a straightforward story about someone putting their shoes on the wrong feet. It caught on enough to define the band for many listeners. They followed it with albums like 1987's "La Guerra dei Tarocchi," which used tarot cards as a loose theme, and 1992's "Il Circo del Caos."

Their stage shows sometimes involved costumes and theatrical elements that weren't to everyone's taste. They kept recording intermittently, putting out a compilation in 2004 and another album a decade later called "La Notte degli Anelli."
