John Stamos is best known for playing Jesse Katsopolis on the sitcom Full House, but he also sang the show's theme song. The track, written by Jesse Frederick and Bennett Salvay, came out in 1987 and reached number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. Stamos performed lead vocals on it, and it remains his most recognizable musical work.
He released a few other singles like 'Forever' and 'A Little More Love,' but none matched the theme song's popularity. In later years, there was some disagreement between Stamos and the songwriters Frederick and Salvay over compensation for the theme, though the details are murky.
Aside from the Full House theme, Stamos's discography is thin, just a handful of soundtrack appearances and singles like 'Blue Bayou' from 1989. The band that recorded the theme included Frederick and Salvay along with Kurt Bestor on drums, Michael Cruz on bass, and Johnny Lee Schell on guitar.
