John Wetton was an English bassist and vocalist who first gained attention playing with King Crimson in the early 1970s. He contributed to albums like 'Red' and 'Starless and Bible Black' during his time with the progressive rock group.
After leaving King Crimson, Wetton worked with several other bands including Uriah Heep and later formed the supergroup Asia. He also pursued a solo career, releasing albums like 'Battle Lines' in 1994 which featured songs such as 'Meet Me At Midnight' and 'Where Do We Go From Here?'
His voice and bass playing remained recognizable elements across these different projects, from the complex arrangements of King Crimson to the more accessible rock of Asia and his own material.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
