Jokeren is Even Johannesen from Oslo, who started rapping in the mid-1990s with the group Gatas Parlament. His first solo album, 'Sigøynermusikk,' came out in 2002. He's put out seven albums since then, including 'Ti Liv' in 2004 and 'Død tid' in 2019.
One of his best-known songs is 'Det Ku' Ha Vaeret Dig,' a ballad from 2004 about losing someone. Other tracks like 'Havnen' and 'Hvor Små Vi Er' show his range from storytelling to more direct rap. His lyrics tend to be raw and introspective, which has earned him a steady following in Norway.
In 2008, Jokeren was convicted of assault and served prison time, which drew criticism and calls for boycotts. He kept making music through that, working with artists like Karpe Diem and Lars Vaular.
