Jonas e Joel are a Brazilian duo from Belo Horizonte, made up of Jonas Vilar and Joel Carlo. They started playing together around 2013, performing on sidewalks and in local bars. Their first single, "Eu Amo Ficar Com Você," came out in 2015 and got them some national attention.
They put out a self-titled debut album and followed it with others like "Mais que Amor" and "Em Cada Canção." Some of their other songs include "Amor Proibido" and "Do Jeito Que Era." Their music is mostly pop with straightforward lyrics.
There was some talk about plagiarism at one point, but they kept working. They've played with different sounds over time, adding bits of rock and folk here and there.
