Jooks is a Danish rap duo formed in the late 1990s by childhood friends Ali Kazim and Niels Brinch from Hvidovre, a suburb of Copenhagen. They started out performing at local clubs and released their debut album, "Definition," in 2001. Their music built a following with its straightforward hip-hop beats and relatable lyrics.
In 2003, their second album "All or Nothing" included the single "Hun Vil Ha' En Rapper," which became a massive hit in Denmark. Its catchy melody and everyday theme about a woman wanting a musician connected widely.
After that breakthrough, Jooks put out albums like "Mafia" in 2005, "Aalborg Pirates" in 2007, and "Syv år" in 2009. They worked with other Danish artists, including singer-songwriter Rasmus, keeping their sound grounded in local hip-hop without much fuss.
