He also developed a reputation for having outspoken political views that drew both support and criticism.
He continued recording music over the following decades, with albums like 'Corazón Gitano' in 1990, 'El Último Rompeolas' in 1992, and 'Aires de Libertad' in 2005. In 2015, he released a live album recorded at Madrid's Teatro Real.
