José Luis Rodríguez, known as "El Puma," is a Venezuelan singer who began performing in the 1970s. He was born in Caracas in 1943. His 1970 album "Moliendo Café" brought him wider attention, though his catalog includes songs like "Dueño de Nada" and "Toda una vida" that became staples in his repertoire.

His music draws from Latin rhythms like salsa and bolero, often arranged with pop elements. Songs such as "Si tú me dices ven" and "Camino verde" show his range within that style, leaning toward romantic themes without straying far from accessible melodies.
