Jot Dog

Jot Dog formed in Iceland in the late 1990s, coming from Hafnarfjörður. Their early work had a raw, minimalist feel, and they built a following through live shows. In 2002, their debut album 'In Motion' came out, and the single 'Turista del Amor' became a hit in Iceland. They followed with albums like 'Touch Landings' in 2004 and 'Fairweather Friends' in 2008.

Frontman Jón Sæmundur Bjarnason handled vocals and guitar, with a band that included Sigurður Bjarki Gunnlaugsson on bass. Their music mixed experimental rock with ambient textures, and songs like 'Baila Sin Parar' and 'Corazón de Metal' showed their range. They toured in Europe and North America.

Their performances sometimes drew attention for unconventional elements. In 2007, their Iceland Airwaves set included nudity and simulated acts, which sparked some backlash. Lineup changes happened too, with guitarist Hrímur Stefánsson leaving in 2009 and drummer Magnús Guðmundsson departing in 2012. Later albums included 'Brutalism' in 2014 and 'Íslandsstæður' in 2017.
