Jovens Em Cristo

Jovens em Cristo formed in Brazil in the late 1970s, a group of young musicians who wanted to use music to express their faith. They started with simple intentions, playing songs that reflected their religious convictions. Their early years weren't easy financially, but they kept at it.

By the mid-1980s, they had become well-known in Brazil, particularly after releasing their song "Meu Refúgio." That track, along with others like "Posso Descansar," carried straightforward messages of comfort and spiritual refuge. Their music blended contemporary Christian styles with some Brazilian rhythms, though it was always the lyrical content that took center stage.

They've released numerous albums over the decades, including their self-titled debut in 1979 and later works like "Quero Te Seguir" and "A Glória do Rei." The current lineup includes Assis Almeida on guitar and vocals, Fábio Menon on bass, Edinho Carvalhaes on drums, and Gustavo Nobre on keyboards. They've worked with other Brazilian Christian artists like André Valadão and Aline Barros.

While they've faced some criticism over social and political stances at times, their music has maintained a consistent focus on worship and encouragement. They continue to perform, drawing audiences who connect with their uncomplicated approach to faith through song.
