Jovens Sarados formed in São Paulo in 1994, with Elizeu Gomes on vocals and Marcelo Aguiar on guitar. They were a Brazilian gospel band that worked in a space between traditional gospel and contemporary Christian pop. Their song 'Seduziste Me Senhor' came out in 2003 and became something of an anthem for them.
Their debut album was called 'Sobre as Asas da Adoração,' and they followed it with records like 'Ao Deus da Eternidade' and 'Tudo Novo.' Other songs in their catalog include 'Eu Quero Teu Fogo' and 'Apaixona-Nos.'
Some of their lyrics and their approach to gospel music drew criticism from parts of the traditional Christian community in Brazil. They kept making music anyway, and it found an audience beyond just believers.
