J.Poo

J.Poo came out of Detroit in the late 2000s. Their track '8 Mil' got attention around 2010, though some listeners found its lyrics too direct. The group put out an album called 'The City of Grey' the following year. Other songs like 'Ápice' and 'Cuidado' show the same lean, unvarnished approach.

They work as a collective, with members sometimes called the Poo Gang. Poo Bear handles much of the writing and direction, while others like Young Poo and Snacky Poo contribute verses and production. Their sound stays close to the ground, built on straightforward beats and lyrics that don't soften the edges.

Their music found an audience that recognized the plain-spoken style. It's less about elaborate production and more about a consistent, unfiltered point of view. That directness has kept their work in circulation, even as hip-hop trends have shifted around them.
