Juan Falú

Juan Falú grew up in San Miguel de Tucumán, where he started playing guitar at eight. His music draws from Argentine folk traditions, particularly the zamba dance form that connects to the country's gaucho heritage.

His song 'Zamba del Arribeño' addresses the struggles of Andean herders known as arribeños. The lyrics describe their experiences with discrimination and their relationship to the land, making it one of his most recognized compositions.

Falú's work has sometimes drawn attention for its social themes, including indigenous rights and criticism of government treatment of marginalized groups. He recorded for over four decades, building a catalog of albums that received critical notice.
