Juliadoll was an alternative rock band from New York City active around the turn of the millennium. They released two albums, 'Juliadoll' in 1999 and 'Para-Si' in 2001, along with several EPs like 'Songs From the Stars' and 'Farewell to Julia'. The group featured Damien Paris on vocals, Dean Baltulonis on lead guitar, Kevin Griffin on rhythm guitar, David Rezak on bass, and Ed Kosiba on drums, though Rezak left the band in 2001.
Their music had an ethereal, introspective quality that drew a loyal following, with songs like 'Departure' and 'Eternity' becoming notable tracks in their catalog. 'Departure' in particular captured a sense of melancholy and transition that resonated with listeners, built around Paris's vocals and the band's atmospheric arrangements.
The band faced some internal tensions and criticism for their sound being too gloomy, but they continued working until disbanding in 2004. They left behind a small but complete body of work that still finds listeners drawn to its particular mood and texture.
