Julianne Deville

Julianne Deville is a French electronic music collective that formed in the late 2000s. Their name comes from an abandoned Parisian apartment, which hints at their interest in atmospheric and forgotten spaces. They first gained attention with their 2010 debut single "La Vie N'est Plus Qu'un Jeu," a track built around melancholic electronics and reflective lyrics.

Over the next decade, they released several albums including Le Silence Des Sirènes in 2013, Au-Delà Des Murs in 2017, and Sans Retours in 2021. Their sound shifted gradually from ethereal electronica toward more experimental territory. The group has included musicians like Julien Barbagallo on vocals and keyboards, Diane Sagnier on synths and programming, Antoine Auger on bass and guitar, and Matthieu Charbonnier on drums, though the lineup has changed at times.

In 2015, Julianne Deville faced some criticism after performing at a concert linked to a far-right political party. They later distanced themselves from that organization and stated they support tolerance and inclusivity. Their music, often dealing with themes of loss and isolation, has drawn comparisons to artists like Woodkid and Kavinsky, but they remain a somewhat elusive presence in French electronic music.
