Archive material and source history
Júlio César de Castro is a Brazilian singer who recorded the song "Onde Você Está" in 1984. That track appeared on his debut album of the same name. He was born in São Paulo and started writing songs as a teenager, influenced by João Gilberto and Chico Buarque.
After that first record, he put out several more albums through the late 1980s and early 1990s, including "Memórias do Futuro" in 1986, "O Último Sorriso" in 1988, and "Última Estação" in 1991. His music tended toward acoustic arrangements and reflective lyrics.
He worked mostly as a solo artist but occasionally collaborated with other musicians. His career unfolded somewhat outside the mainstream Brazilian music industry of that period.
