Jungle Fever

Jungle Fever formed in London in the early 2000s around Tom McFarland on keyboards and vocals, Max Hallett on saxophone, and Josh Baxter on drums. Their music pulls from Afrobeat, funk, and soul, with horn lines and grooves that feel both intricate and immediate.

In 2009, the single "21st Century Babylon" became their breakout track, landing with a rhythm that caught listeners and lyrics that spoke to modern life. They followed it with their debut album Babylon in 2010, which set the tone for their sound. Other songs like "A Dish Best Served Cold" and "BACKWARDS" continued to explore similar territory, mixing social commentary with danceable arrangements.

Over the next several years, they released three more studio albums, The Heat, Freedom, and Love in Stereo, each refining their blend of electronic touches and live instrumentation. The band has often worked with a rotating group of musicians, keeping their performances loose and collaborative.
