Archive material and source history
Junkie XL is the stage name of Dutch musician Tom Holkenborg, who started out playing guitar in punk and metal bands before shifting to electronic music in the late 1980s. He took on the name in 1992, and his debut album 'Saturday Teenage Kick' came out in 1997. Some of his tracks include 'Today' and 'Action Radius'.
In 1999, he released 'Blue Menace,' a trance track that got played a lot in clubs and festivals around that time. His work has sometimes drawn attention for dealing with difficult subjects, though he's kept making music through it.
