Archive material and source history
Just Off Turner started as a Birmingham indie rock band in the early 2000s, originally called The Belmonts. They were childhood friends Ben Turner on vocals and guitar, Chris Rhodes on bass, and Adam Hill on drums. The name Just Off Turner came in 2005, referencing the street where Turner lived.
Their debut album 'The View from Here' came out in 2008. The 2010 album 'Already Miss You' gave them their breakthrough, with the title track becoming a standout. Songs like 'Bad For Business' and 'How Much It Hurts' show their mix of melodic rock and introspective lyrics.
After a more experimental third album 'The Weight of Expectation' in 2013, they returned to their earlier style with 2015's 'The Other Side of Midnight.' They kept releasing music through 2018's 'Echoes of the Past.' Tom Watts joined as a touring keyboardist along the way.
