Justiça is a French electronic duo from Paris, formed in 2003 by Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. Augé came from a rock background while de Rosnay had experience with electronic production, and together they put out their debut album "†" in 2005. That record found an audience and established them as a notable act in dance music.
Their sound pulls from disco, house, punk, and hip-hop, often built around driving rhythms and distorted vocals. Songs like "100 Dolares" and "Tiro Ao Alvo" show their knack for catchy, propulsive tracks that work on the dance floor. They followed their debut with "Audio, Video, Disco" in 2011 and "Woman" in 2016.
In 2007, the French Ministry of Economy sued the band over their use of the euro symbol in the artwork for "†." Justiça won the case, but the lawsuit drew attention to how artistic expression can run into legal trouble in commercial contexts.
