JVCK JAMES is a band with James Veck-Gilodi on vocals, Noah Bowman on guitar, Josh Cadden on bass, and Evan Sutton on drums. They put out their debut EP 'No Drama' in 2019, followed by the 'Better Off' EP in 2020 and their first full album 'Lucid' in 2021.
Their song 'No Drama' drew some attention in 2020 when its music video was criticized for depicting violence. The band said they intended it as commentary on gun violence. That track, along with 'Wave,' became among their most recognizable songs.
By 2021, the 'Lucid' album had helped establish them with a sound that mixed hip-hop, pop, and electronic elements. The writing tended toward introspective lyrics over melodic production.
