K 93 formed in Montevideo, Uruguay around 2000 as a trio with vocalist Sebastián Teysera, bassist Guillermo Peluffo, and drummer Gabriel Prado. Their debut album 'Diablo' came out in 2002, with the title track becoming a notable song in their catalog.

After Prado left in 2007, the band continued with Ramiro Tellechea on drums and Nicolás Ibarburu on guitar. They released several more albums including 'El Peso del Mundo' in 2006 and 'Carne y Hueso' in 2009.
