K-Back formed in São Paulo in 1998 with André Abujamra on vocals and guitar, André Fusco on bass, and Toni Platão on drums. Their debut album 'Kriptonita' came out the following year and included the track 'Cama Mesa e Motel,' which became a hit in Brazil.

They put out several more albums in the early 2000s, like 'Radio Pirata' in 2001 and 'Na Estrada' in 2003. Other songs from that period include 'Alguém' and 'Olhar pra Tras.' The band took a break at some point but returned to playing together in 2015.
