Background notes

Archive material and source history

K-new formed in 2012 and spent their early years trying to find an audience in the crowded K-pop scene. Their music mixed soulful melodies with hip-hop beats, but it took a few years for that sound to connect.

In 2015, they released "Why So Sad?" and it became their breakthrough. The song's lyrics about melancholy and longing seemed to catch a particular mood, and it climbed the charts.

After that, they put out a second album called "The Story of Us" and tried working with different styles, including R&B and electronic dance music. The group has four members: Seunghoon, Minho, Taeyong, and Hyunjin.
