A Belgian trio whose straightforward melodies have soundtracked childhoods since the late '90s.
For a sense of their sound, try 'Oma's Aan De Top' or 'Dokter Dokter.' They're both pretty typical of their approach.
K3's songs are built for singalongs, with simple, catchy hooks that stick. Tracks like 'Oma's Aan De Top' and 'Honingbeer' have straightforward melodies that appeal to younger listeners. They've recorded many songs since their 1999 debut 'Parels,' including 'De 3 Biggetjes' and '10,000 Luchtballonnen.'
The trio originally consisted of Karen Damen, Kristel Verbeke, and Josje Huiman. Kristel Verbeke left in 2015 to work on solo projects, and Karen and Josje continued with a new member, Klaasje Meijer. Former member Kathleen Aerts later wrote a book about her time in the group, though Studio 100 disputed her account.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
