Kadoshi formed in São Paulo, Brazil in the late 1990s, drawing from the city's religious communities. The band's lineup included vocalist Kênia Sorato, keyboardist Márcio Campos, bassist Kay Kyriakos, and drummer Claudio Cavalcante. Their music mixed pop with rock, reggae, and Brazilian rhythms, with lyrics that often dealt with faith and hope.
Their debut album 'Compromisso' came out in 2001, and the title track became a hit. The song 'Há Momentos' also found an audience. Some in Christian circles questioned whether their approach strayed too far from traditional worship music, but they kept performing and recording.
Later albums included 'Caminho' in 2004, 'Noite e Dia' in 2007, and 'Tempestade' in 2011. Other songs like 'Filho Pródigo' and 'Razão Pra Viver' became part of their catalog. Their sound remained a blend of accessible pop and spiritual themes, anchored by Sorato's voice and the band's arrangements.
