Ghy mooght nu wel 't huyswaerts gaen."
"Waer sal ick henen rijden?
Waer sal ick henen gaen?
Had gy my maget gelaten,
Een maeghdeken van de straten,
Ghy hadde veel beter gedaen."

Een maeght so ick u hier vandt
Fier zijt ghy boven geschreven
En ghy waert geen maeght gebleven
Want hier is de somer langh."
Het maeghdeken keerde haer omme,
Haer gang is sy verder gegaen:

Of sy over den Ruyter wou klagen,
Hy had haer groot leyt gedaen.
Men nam den stouten Ruyter
Gevangen gelijck een dief,
Al tussen twee heeren knapen:
Schoon spreken mogt hem niet baten,
Gevangen so moest hy het liefst.
Men deed' er den Ruyter leggen
Al op een pyne-banck,
Een pyne-banck o so kleyne,
Dat dede den Ruyter weyne,
Hy was onder 's Heeren bedwanck.
Men deed den Ruyter knielen
Al voor dat blanke zweert.
Gesellen wilt dit nu onthouwen,
Dat komt van de schoone vrouwen:
Laet varen so ghy se niet geert.
