Archive material and source history

Kães Vadius formed in São Paulo in 1992 with Rodrigo Amarante on vocals, Diego Moraes on guitar, Paulinho Barros on bass, and Pedro Sousa on drums. They started playing small venues around the city, working on their sound before things took off a few years later.

Their second album, simply called "Kães Vadius," came out in 1998 and included the song "A Namoradinha Que Eu Amei." That track got a lot of radio play and became their most recognizable piece. The album also had songs like "A Porta do Diabo" and "Abriram Minha Cabeça" that showed their mix of straightforward rock with lyrics that touched on everyday life in Brazil.

They put out a few more records after that, including a live album for MTV in 2000 and "Rock'n'Roll" in 2002. The band went on hiatus in the late 2000s, with Amarante focusing on solo work. They did some reunion shows in 2018, but haven't been consistently active since.
