A Havana-born ensemble whose 2001 hit "Vamos Pa La Playa" became a global dance floor anthem.
For their sound, start with "Vamos Pa La Playa", that's the blueprint. But "La Mascara" gives you a different angle on what they could do.
They formed in Havana in the late 1990s, playing local clubs with drummer Ernesto "Tito" Ramos and bassist Leonardo "Léo" Rodríguez. After "Vamos Pa La Playa" hit globally in 2001, they released albums like "Mas Que Caliente" and "Cuba Libre" through 2012, weathering a plagiarism accusation over "El Tiburón" in 2006. By their last album, the lineup included guitarist Juan Manuel "Mayito" Jimenez and keyboardist Orlando "Orly" Vistel.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
